Endermologie FAQs

How many Endermologie treatments do you need?

Before & after 13 Endermologie treatments. Slimming, Firming and Skin Smoothing.

The number of treatments required will vary with each individual.

Depending on what stage your cellulite is at, how long it’s been there etc. and how committed you are to taking up the challenge of exercising and eating a ‘clean’ diet that will help you get the best results from your treatment.

Let’s say we’re tacking a typical adipose cellulite which usually presents more obviously on the bum and backs of the thighs, though it could be ‘migrating’ to the front of the thighs and calves. Most 25 year olds will see a change in their skin from the very first session and will be happy with their results after approx. 14 treatments.

For women over 35 years, unfortunately it can take a little longer. So in general, we recommend an initial course of 20 treatments (visiting twice a week over 7 weeks), with a maintenance program of 1 session every month thereafter. It is expected that most people will begin to see results within 6 to 8 treatments.

The only way to know how many you’re likely to need is to have an examination during your initial consultation.

Can I have Endermologie?

Is Endermologie suitable for everyone?

Almost, but it’s worth bearing in mind that due to the nature of the treatment in promoting circulation (vascular circulation is increased 400% and lymphatic circulation is increased 300% according to a 1999 UCLA study), some conditions are contraindicated:

Systemic:

– acute infections or inflammation

– cancer or malignant tumors within the past five years

– diabetes

– heart disease

– pregnancy

– progressive infectious illnesses such as AIDS or Hepatitis

– renal disease/kidney failure

– respiratory disease

– thrombosis/ phlebitis/ anti-coagulant treatment

Local:

– angioma

– hernia

– lipoma

– skin rash/infection

– varicose vains

It is also worth noting that people with hypothyroidism, diabetes or undergoing a long-term corticosteroid treatment respond less well to our treatments. In case of doubt, please consult your GP or attending physician.

How long should you allow for an Endermologie treatment?

Endermologie has hundreds of pre-programmed treatment protocols as well as a ‘free menu’ for bespoke treatments.

Here at Peninsula Endermologie we assess each person on an individual basis and tailor their treatment program accordingly. Therefore, it’s impossible to say exactly how long the actual treatment will take. In order to simplify scheduling, we have 2 appointment times, an ‘Express’ which allows 30 for a minute appointment time and a ‘Classic’ which allows for 1 hour.

Note, that a 30 minute appointment usually allows for 15 to 20 minutes of treatment and the Classic appointment allows for approximately 35 to 40 minutes of treatment time. The remaining time in the appointment is used to allow the Client to change in and out of the body stocking (when required for body treatments only or for cleansing prior to facials) and for the Therapist to discuss progress, take payments, make follow-up notes and allow for thorough disinfection of the equipment prior to the next Client’s arrival.

As an example, if you want to get rid cellulite on your legs and bum, we would usually book an Express appointment and your actual treatment will last for approximately 15 – 20 minutes. If you also wanted to get rid of stubborn fat on your tummy and hips and tone up the skin on your arms and back, then we would book a Classic treatment.

We allow approximately 90 minutes for the initial consultation and discovery treatment appointment to ensure you have plenty of time to learn about how Endermologie will benefit you, ask any questions and change into the required body-stocking.

How Endermologie can help with weight loss and slimming

Before & After photos of a tummy post 16 Endermologie treatments

At Peninsula Endermologie we use the lipomassage technique to reduce the appearance of cellulite and target specific areas of stubborn fat that may be resistant to diet and exercise.

Endermologie will not reduce weight but it can definitely complement a weight loss program. For example, if your goal is to lose centimetres from your waist, we’ll focus the treatment programme on tackling that area of stubborn fat whilst simultaneously toning up your skin to shift that fat.

Many people find that Endermologie helps to boost their overall metabolism and use the treatment as part of a detoxification program to achieve faster weight-loss results.

Combining a balanced, healthy diet (we recommend a healthy diet of lean proteins, fruit and vegetables and healthy fats from nuts, seeds, avocados and fish oil etc.) with lots of water, a regular exercise program (preferably with strength training) and plenty of rest along with a recommended course of Endermologie treatments, will definitely assist you in achieving the results you desire.
