It all starts with awareness
Today is World Lymphoedema day.
Established in 2016, World Lymphoedema Day aims to raise awareness and fundraising for research, treatment and cures for lymphoedema and lymphatic diseases.
An estimated 40,000 Australians live with the condition, however, it’s still not well known, and often the condition goes undiagnosed for some time, making treatment difficult, and having a greater impact on quality of life.
There’s currently no cure for chronic (primary) lymphoedema, but with early diagnosis, and treatment, quality of life can be improved.
Endermologie can successfully treat secondary lymphoedema… for example, arm lymphoedema resulting from damage to the lymph nodes after mastectomy surgery. In fact, Endermologie has been proven to be 3 times more effective at relieving the oedema than manual massage.
