Your imperfections are welcomed here
I want to spend a little time explaining my philosophy on body image & self love. Settle in, this could be a long one.
.
One of the conundrums I experience daily is that I actively promote Endermologie as a treatment to alter the appearance of our bodies whilst also vehemently arguing that we should love and adore our bodies right as they are.
.
Sounds contradictory right?
.
Let me tell you I’ve spent many, many hours wondering if people think I’m just an absolute arse of a hypocrite.
.
Well here’s the thing. I’ve spent years working in an industry that mostly depended on people acting on their insecurities. Now, I believe there’s a great value in Cosmetic surgery, in the hands of the right surgeon & for the right reasons. I’ve seen people step out of the shadows with a wonderful new confidence in themselves after a simple correction to a problem that may have held them back from loving themselves for years.
.
But it’s also true that cosmetic surgery & the resulting expectations can be very damaging.
.
I’ve seen people spend a fortune and risk their health by aspiring to a ‘look’ that’s so unlike the original version of them, it’s disturbing. In these cases I truly believe that surgeons ought to apply the brakes & the ‘patient’ in question needs to be supported in spending more time focusing on their emotional health.
.
The reality is however, that for the most part, us humans are great at recognising our perceived ‘flaws’, no matter how gorgeous we appear to the outside world, there’s usually something we would like to “get fixed”.
.
Our hairy legs, the hips that got bigger after each baby, the slightly wonky nose that looks weird in photos, our bumpy legs. Many of these we learn to live with & even embrace over time, but I reckon most of us get to a point where we think it’s easier to fix it, rather than waste all that energy worrying about it.
.
And that’s why I adore Endermologie. It can help you work at those things you want fixed, but instead of putting you at risk, it’s actually beneficial for your health & makes you feel awesome after each treatment.
.
There’s one caveat though. I want you to love your body hard through the process. The end.
