Just because something’s advertised as non-invasive doesn’t mean it’s safe. Anything that penetrates the skin or causes damage, even on a surface level, can cause side effects.
Plasma pens were launched to market at a low cost and manufacturers advised that no prior experience was necessary. That raises major alarm bells!!
Skin can be fantastically resilient, but in inexperienced hands, treatments like these can cause permanent damage.

– procedural work, especially if it involves prescription medication or heats up or breaks the skin, carries risk.
– low risk, in experienced and qualified hands, is not NO risk.
– people are often lured by low prices but as I discussed twice today in clinic, low prices are often a 
. The more experienced and qualified, the more in demand and the higher the fees (usually).
We all have to start somewhere but ideally that ought to be with supervision & oversight not a “see one, do one teach one” approach.
Skin is delicate and in the wrong hands so much could go wrong!
I get asked plasma pen ( this treatment 
) regularly & I just say “don’t do it.”
If you need surgery, you need surgery.
Doing nothing is *better* than something done badly by someone inexperienced that causes harm.
A patient said today “I want to pay good money, I’m not one to look for bargains.” And I said “I want treatment to be reassuringly expensive, and I’d rather wait till I can afford it than cut corners.”
