4.03.24 – Managing muscle pain in menopause

Try these tips from Dr Louise Newson for managing muscle pain in menopause and see if you start to get relief.

It’s always worth looking at where else you can support your body, especially in times of hormonal changes. Other than Endermologie of course!!

Posted @withregram • @menopause_doctor It’s day 14 of #DeckTheHormones and today we’re discussing the symptoms of muscle and joint pain.

Pain, muscle aches and stiffness in the joints are extremely common symptoms during the perimenopause, menopause and beyond, which are usually due to the lack of hormones oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone as these hormones work as anti-inflammatories in our muscles and joints.

Many women we consult with in our @newson.health clinic have muscle and joint pains which improve with the right dose and type of HRT. Muscle stiffness was actually one of my first perimenopausal symptoms and if I forget to change my patches then this is the symptom that quickly returns when my oestrogen levels drop.

During the perimenopause and menopause – as well as when suffering with long term pain – it is really important to look at your lifestyle and make healthy choices regarding your diet, activity levels, your sleeping habits and your stress levels.

In addition to taking HRT, here are some tips on how to do this in this post, and we go into this in more detail in this article on my @balancemenopause website – the link is on my story now.
