Endermologie FAQs

Endermologie is clinically proven to reduce cellulite

Before and After 15 Endermologie Treatments. Significant improvement in cellulite.

100% YES!

Endermologie is the only FDA (Food and Drug Administration, USA) and TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration, Australia) approved treatment for the temporary reduction of cellulite. To be clear, we must advise that the treatment may only be temporary as the factors which cause cellulite may still be present and may cause cellulite to re-form over time, however many people report long-term satisfaction with the results.

Endermologie has had over 140 clinical studies which prove its efficacy. You can find more details about some of these here: www.lpg-pro.com/cosire/articles.php

In order to ensure you get the best results, here at Peninsula Endermologie, we utilise proven Endermologie protocols and techniques and support you in making lifestyle changes that will ensure get the best possible outcome.

*Endermologie: taking a closer look. Shack RB. (Aesthetic Surg J 2001;21:259-260.). Abstract.
Recent laboratory investigations have shown that various maneuvers in Endermologie treatment, such as smoothing, kneading, and bouncing, create unique waveforms. Furthermore, the amount of pressure generated with each maneuver depends more on the operator’s technique than on the suction setting or the force of the spring-loaded rollers. This might explain the variable clinical results for Endermologie that have been reported.

How many Endermologie treatments do you need?

Before & after 13 Endermologie treatments. Slimming, Firming and Skin Smoothing.

The number of treatments required will vary with each individual.

Depending on what stage your cellulite is at, how long it’s been there etc. and how committed you are to taking up the challenge of exercising and eating a ‘clean’ diet that will help you get the best results from your treatment.

Let’s say we’re tacking a typical adipose cellulite which usually presents more obviously on the bum and backs of the thighs, though it could be ‘migrating’ to the front of the thighs and calves. Most 25 year olds will see a change in their skin from the very first session and will be happy with their results after approx. 14 treatments.

For women over 35 years, unfortunately it can take a little longer. So in general, we recommend an initial course of 20 treatments (visiting twice a week over 7 weeks), with a maintenance program of 1 session every month thereafter. It is expected that most people will begin to see results within 6 to 8 treatments.

The only way to know how many you’re likely to need is to have an examination during your initial consultation.

Can I have Endermologie?

Is Endermologie suitable for everyone?

Almost, but it’s worth bearing in mind that due to the nature of the treatment in promoting circulation (vascular circulation is increased 400% and lymphatic circulation is increased 300% according to a 1999 UCLA study), some conditions are contraindicated:

Systemic:

– acute infections or inflammation

– cancer or malignant tumors within the past five years

– diabetes

– heart disease

– pregnancy

– progressive infectious illnesses such as AIDS or Hepatitis

– renal disease/kidney failure

– respiratory disease

– thrombosis/ phlebitis/ anti-coagulant treatment

Local:

– angioma

– hernia

– lipoma

– skin rash/infection

– varicose vains

It is also worth noting that people with hypothyroidism, diabetes or undergoing a long-term corticosteroid treatment respond less well to our treatments. In case of doubt, please consult your GP or attending physician.

Why Endermologie is great for men too.

Can men have Endermologie?

Yes, absolutely! Clinical experience has shown impressive results for reducing stubborn fat in problem areas such as “love handles” and loose pectoral tissue. In fact, they often respond to treatments faster than women.

Endermologie also improves blood flow to treated areas and helps in lymphatic drainage throughout the body to provide relief from muscle spasms and soreness related to previous invasive treatment procedures or after intensive physical exercise.

Therefore a structured program of natural, non-invasive Endermologie treatments is an excellent addition to your normal fitness regimen.

Note, although men are biologically less likely to develop cellulite, due to the difference in the composition of their connective tissue (oblique septa as opposed to vertical) and additional thickness in the skin, it can occur in approximately 10% of the male population, so Endermologie is an excellent choice to smooth away this lumps and bumps and tone up the skin.

How long should you allow for an Endermologie treatment?

Endermologie has hundreds of pre-programmed treatment protocols as well as a ‘free menu’ for bespoke treatments.

Here at Peninsula Endermologie we assess each person on an individual basis and tailor their treatment program accordingly. Therefore, it’s impossible to say exactly how long the actual treatment will take. In order to simplify scheduling, we have 2 appointment times, an ‘Express’ which allows 30 for a minute appointment time and a ‘Classic’ which allows for 1 hour.

Note, that a 30 minute appointment usually allows for 15 to 20 minutes of treatment and the Classic appointment allows for approximately 35 to 40 minutes of treatment time. The remaining time in the appointment is used to allow the Client to change in and out of the body stocking (when required for body treatments only or for cleansing prior to facials) and for the Therapist to discuss progress, take payments, make follow-up notes and allow for thorough disinfection of the equipment prior to the next Client’s arrival.

As an example, if you want to get rid cellulite on your legs and bum, we would usually book an Express appointment and your actual treatment will last for approximately 15 – 20 minutes. If you also wanted to get rid of stubborn fat on your tummy and hips and tone up the skin on your arms and back, then we would book a Classic treatment.

We allow approximately 90 minutes for the initial consultation and discovery treatment appointment to ensure you have plenty of time to learn about how Endermologie will benefit you, ask any questions and change into the required body-stocking.

What to wear to & during your Endermologie treatment

What do I wear during an Endermologie treatment?

We recommend that you wear clothes that are easy to change in and out of.

You will be required to purchase and wear a specially-designed body stocking (“Endermowear”) that allows the Endermologie treatment head to glide gently over the body.

You may remove your bra (or at least open the straps at the back) and it is recommended that you wear a g-string under your body stocking.

The body-stockings can be taken home and re-used for each consecutive treatment.

What does the Endermologie massage feel like?

What does Endermologie feel like?

Endermologie is a relaxing massage experience.

As the Therapist guides the rollers over the body, you will feel a slight vibration and tingling and warming of the area, due to the increased blood flow.

Some areas of the body are more sensitive than others, but the treatment should never be painful.

Over time, the Therapist may apply more pressure and different manoeuvres to some areas in order to achieve an optimal result, however, your comfort is always of the utmost importance. You do not need to experience discomfort for the treatment to work.

How you’ll feel after your Endermologie treatment – fabulous!

Feel good about your body

You may experience a slight tingling and redness and your skin will usually feel immediately softer.

As the treatment stimulates your lymphatic circulation, you may find you may need to visit the bathroom more regularly.

This indicates that your body is already ridding itself of excess fluid containing toxins and fat deposits.

We strongly encourage you to drink plenty of water to facilitate this elimination of toxins.

Many people report feeling more energetic after treatment, so scheduling exercise after your treatment is a great idea!

Using muscles to burn away the fat released after treatments and sweating out those toxins will help you achieve your results even faster.  Just bear in mind that your circulation will be boosted for at least 6 hours after treatment, so be aware of your pulse rate. You don’t need to work too hard, just a 20 minute power-walk or a 10 minute rebounding (trampolining) session will be enough to support your lymphatic drainage and toxin release.

How Endermologie can help with weight loss and slimming

Before & After photos of a tummy post 16 Endermologie treatments

At Peninsula Endermologie we use the lipomassage technique to reduce the appearance of cellulite and target specific areas of stubborn fat that may be resistant to diet and exercise.

Endermologie will not reduce weight but it can definitely complement a weight loss program. For example, if your goal is to lose centimetres from your waist, we’ll focus the treatment programme on tackling that area of stubborn fat whilst simultaneously toning up your skin to shift that fat.

Many people find that Endermologie helps to boost their overall metabolism and use the treatment as part of a detoxification program to achieve faster weight-loss results.

Combining a balanced, healthy diet (we recommend a healthy diet of lean proteins, fruit and vegetables and healthy fats from nuts, seeds, avocados and fish oil etc.) with lots of water, a regular exercise program (preferably with strength training) and plenty of rest along with a recommended course of Endermologie treatments, will definitely assist you in achieving the results you desire.

Yes. We have the clinical data to prove it. As well as lots of happy Clients!

Yes! In a recent, independent, study conducted with the team of Professor Humbert (University Hospital of Besançon – France) a scientific breakthrough was discovered: Endermolift is the first and only technique in the world which has been proven to increase natural hyaluronic acid synthesis by 80%.

The innovative effects of ENDERMOLIFT on the skin are as follows

– Natural hyaluronic acid synthesis increased by 80% (skin is replumped and rehydrated from within)

– Natural elastin synthesis increased by 46% (skin is more supple and better-protected against expression lines)

– Firmness is increased by 23%

– Wrinkles are diminished by 21% (nasolabial area)

– Complexion is twice as radiant

What all that means is at Peninsula Endermologie, you’ll receive a facial that REALLY makes a difference. We keep the use of products to a minimum as the action of the Endermolift facial creates results that no product will ever be able to match.

(As a side note, we suggest you try not to be conned by the products that suggest a boost of Hylauronic acid or anti-ageing effects. The reality is most non-prescription products can do little to alter your skin’s structure as the molecules of those products simply cannot be absorbed deeply enough into the skin layers to have any real effect).

That’s why we advocate the simple skincare and encourage you to save your money on products and instead invest in scientifically proven methods which will deliver significant and long-lasting change to your skin structure with each treatment.

How many treatments to get significant results?

You will start to notice changes after the very first session as your skin will feel velvety soft and your complexion more radiant. As each person’s skin reacts differently, depending on their personal circumstances, each person will see changes occurring at different times. For example, it may take longer to notice changes with someone who smokes or has more sun damage.

However, generally, the results become more pronounced after 12 sessions, with the face appearing rested and rejuvenated with a noticeable reduction of a double chin (if applicable) plus contours becoming more defined.

In a recent clinical trial, wrinkles were 21% smoother, skin 23% firmer, dark circles and puffiness more diminished, and the skin softer and twice as radiant within 24 weeks (patients were treated twice a week).

For quicker results, sessions can be scheduled several times a week at the beginning of the treatment (the fibroblast can be constantly stimulated). The first month is important to trigger the process at the skin level.

After that, one session per month is ideal.

Endermologie’s zero-risk means safe, reliable results.

Traditional facial beauty treatments, such as facials, do not work in the deeper layers of the skin over the long term.

Other techniques such as laser or surgery can lead to unwanted side effects such as pigmentation or scarring.

Unlike muscle-freezing injections such as botox which can lead to unnatural expressions, Endermolift smoothes out your wrinkles and allows you to retain your natural facial movement, albeit with less lines and wrinkles.

The Endermolift by Endermologie technique stimulates the skin naturally, painlessly and without any risks, but still achieves visible results.

LPG’s 30+ years of experience and countless scientific studies are also a guarantee of remarkable efficiency that stands out in the complex world of beauty solutions.
